Detroit Pistons all set to sign Dwane Casey as coach

The Detroit Pistons have been in search of a new man at the helm and they just might have found one in Dwane Casey. The Toronto Raptors coach has reportedly agreed to a deal by the Detroit Pistons and is all set to join the club. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Detroit Pistons and Casey already has a 5 year long deal in place and the deal has already been penned. The Pistons had the spot open after their previous coach Van Gundy left soon after the season end. Van Gundy at the helm of Detroit went 152-176 over 4 seasons and the last season was 39-43.

The Detroit Piston team owner Tom Gores said that Gundy had made it clear that he would have liked to return for the 2018-2019 season, but the administration decided that it was time for a change. After the huge sweep by the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Eastern Conference semi-finals the Toronto Raptors fired their coach Dwane Casey who had up till that point had a record franchise haul of 59 wins and had won the Raptor’s their top seed in the east in the 2018 season.

Kevin Durant to stay with the Golden State Warriors

Kevin Durant goes on record saying that he will remain with the Golden State Warriors after the Warriors routed the Cleveland Cavaliers 4-0 in the NBA Finals on Saturday morning (Singapore Time). This was their second consecutive title and the third finals victory in the last four years. This was Durant’s second title win and his second NBA Finals Most Valuable Player award win after he put in a record play off high of 43 points in the Game 3.

Kevin Durant says that his mind is made up and he will remain with the Golden State Warriors and that it would be made official after hashing out some points on the new deal that is being offered to him to keep him at the club. His remaining in the Warriors roster will mean that they are the team to beat in the 2018-2019 season. Cavalier’s star player LeBron James though was very cryptic with his words post Game 4 interview with him not confirming or denying his position at the club for the upcoming season.

Tyronn Lue wants to continue coaching the Cavaliers

Losing his star man LeBron James might be a blow to the team but Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue says that he wants to continue with the club in the upcoming season. He had to deal with a series of health issues and took a 9-game leave of absence after experiencing chest pains with blood in his cough. But he says that he is ready to be at the helm of the team come 2018 season. He was on medication to combat his anxiety disorder but that did not keep him from guiding the Cavalier’s to their final.
