Wake Forest defeated by Virginia in ACC Play

The Cavaliers remained undefeated in ACC by beating Wake Forest on Sunday. It was its 10th win in a stretch. It was a tough game for Virginia even then they managed to beat Wake Forest with an impressive score of 59-49 with Kyle Guy scoring 17 points helping to seal the deal for Virginia. Another player who helped Virginia to keep its top position in the league was De ’Andre Hunter. He scored 16 points which insured the Cavaliers to keep their no 1 position in the game. This was the second longest streak win for Virginia with seven victories in four years.

Oregon Ducks secure victory over Oregon State Beavers

Ending a losing streak of 14 games the Oregon Ducks women basketball team scored a massive 75-63 over Oregon State Beavers on 100th edition of the rivalry between the two teams. The Matthew Knight Arena saw an overwhelming crowd going over 7000. The Ducks previous victory over the Beavers was in 2011 and its win on Sunday helped the Ducks secure a much needed win.

Sabrina Ionescu scored 35 points, a career high, which tied the score for the Ducks. Satou Sabally and Mallory McGwire, were the two players who’s outstanding play brought the team back in the game and helped Oregon secure their win against the Beavers. McGwire scored 14 points, eight of which she scored in the first half of the game which gave the Ducks an impressive lead of 40-18 over the Beavers. The match fixing moment for the Ducks was when Cazorla scored two back to back baskets which gave the team the required distance from the Beavers and finally bagging the win for the Ducks.

Xavier Musketeers score a win against Seton Hall

The 73-64 win against Seton Hall is going to be match to remember for the Musketeers as well as for their fans. This win for Musketeers is a memorable one since this was the first time the Xaviers were beaten in their home court. Despite Seton Hall dominating the game most of the time the Musketeers snatched a very formidable win. Tyrique Jones and Sean O’Mara did a an impressive job on defence as well as a massive contribution from players like Trevon Bluiett who scored 15 points and Kaiser Gates with 10 points. The win over Seton Hall has improved the overall score for the Musketeers. However the game was dominated by J.P.Macura. He scored 27 points, of which 18 points was scored in the second half which helped Xaviers to turn the game around. The loss Seton Hall was a disappointing loss as it caused a drop in its overall ranking in the series.
